‘A Summer of Colour’

 

This project developed from concern about the long-term impact of the inactivity and social isolation experienced by care home residents during the pandemic. With support from Community Chest funding, in April 2022 I commenced a sociable and playful, creative adventure with willing participants from Meadowbrook nursing home. During this journey the residents and I discovered a shared love of nature, and this became a theme for our artmaking. The subsequent exhibition contained works which celebrated the joyous colours, textures, and moments of summertime.
